Having just gorged on Hilary Mantel’s “Wolf Hall” and “Bring Up The Bodies”, this week I got to do some Tudor time-traveling of my own. I was commissioned by PASSAMEZZO”, a lovely period music ensemble, to produce some new imagery for them. Their leader, Tamsin Lewis came up with the idea of approximating a painting from the period…a lovely challenge. I found that the trick, from a technical point of view, was to restrict the lighting, not to over-light, so often a temptation for a studio photographer.
A highlight of the day was encouraging (forcing) them to play, and I got to hear some John Dowland played and sung as it was meant to be!
Apologies to Robin and Michael…
